Week 10 News

Festival planning
 Thanks to those who have volunteered themselves to help at the festival so far.  We still have a shortfall of helpers.  If anyone has friends or family who would be willing to help please let us know and we will be forever grateful!  We need:
•    1 helper in the afternoon for icecream and shaved ice
•    Kidzone helpers in general: phone Martin on 526 8893
•    An afternoon driver for the noddy cart: Terri 526 8771
•    Someone to run the plant stall in the afternoon while Bridgit plays on stage: Bridgit 526 8114
•    Someone to sell Sparrow pats in the afternoon at the Petzone:  Gaynor 526 8844
(for those of you who don’t know Sparrow, she is a real cow, but the pats are not real!)
•    Helpers on the curry stall for all or part of the day: Kylie 526 8201
•    More Room 1 students to organise a kidzone stall or offer help on the day.
•    Donations of eggs for our festival quiche maker.  Terri 526 8771

Thank you, thank you, thank you . . . to all those who are already in the festival spirit with your donations of curry, soup, cakes, clothes, books, time, energy, etc. and to Jools and her team on making those great big signs outside the school.  Well done, keep up the great work and dedication.

Week 9 News

Waste Audit!  On Monday, Lydia, Sofie, Louie and Richard did a waste audit with Kate Cobb.  “We found out how much rubbish our school chucked out last Friday.  We found out that each person in the school makes 59g of rubbish every day.  But more than 2/3 of this rubbish is compostable or recyclable.  We hope that our school has improved by the end of the year.  

Only 40 days to Festival Day!!!!  SUNDAY OCTOBER 25 10AM-4PM  
With the holidays fast approaching, it is the perfect time to have a spring clear out and send in your goodies and offers of help.  Thank you for all your efforts, it’s gonna be a great day!!
Time to get your scarecrow dressed!!  Your scarecrow should be clearly visible from the road and display the festival, date and time (10am-4pm).  The scarecrow’s name and address should also appear somewhere nearby so that our judges can award prizes!
     Curry ingredients needed – a list of requirements is on the school notice board.  
     Jude needs good quality clean second hand clothes and books of all ages and sizes.
Room 4 will be running the lucky dip so please send in donations of small treats and toys.
Room 3 are making lemonade so will need lemons and plastic bottles.
Room 2 are on popcorn and home made sweets.

Week 8 News

Only 6 weeks to Festival Day!!!!  SUNDAY OCTOBER 25 10AM-4PM  
•    It’s scarecrow time!!  Your scarecrow should be clearly visible from the road and display the festival, date and time (10am-4pm).  The scarecrow’s name and address should also appear somewhere nearby so that our judges can award prizes!
•    Maya is looking for donations of pumpkins or other ingredients for her to make soup or curry.  
•    Jude needs good quality clean second hand clothes and books of all ages and sizes.
•    Room 4 will be running the lucky dip so please send in donations of small treats and toys.
•    Room 3 are making lemonade so will need lemons and plastic bottles.
•    Room 2 are on popcorn and home made sweets.
•    Kylie needs help with organising food stalls – volunteers please!!
•    Sue will be organising food & item orders.  All requests need to be clearly written and go directly to Sue, who is happy to advise!
•    We need donations of good quality items for the silent auction.  We have already received some very generous donations; these could be crafts, services, attractions etc.  Please offer these directly to Emma.
•    Martin Green needs help with the kid zone area.

Week 7 News

NGATIMOTI FESTIVAL COMING SOON!!!!  SUNDAY OCTOBER 25 10AM-4PM  
•    Have you been thinking about scarecrows?  The competition will be fierce if last year is anything to go by!  Of course, it’s all about having fun and advertising our upcoming festival! Your scarecrow should be clearly visible from the road and display the festival, date and time (10am-4pm).  The scarecrow’s name and address should also appear somewhere nearby so that our judges can award prizes!

Martin Green urgently needs other parents to help with KIDZONE activities.  Anyone wanting to run their own kidzone stall should phone Martin on 526 8893 before 25 September.  $10 for Ngatimoti students (must have a Room 1 student in charge of the stall/game).  $20 for High School Students.    YOUR FESTIVAL NEEDS YOU!!
