Week Seven School Newsletter

SWIMMING With a number of students no longer swimming, we have decided to make class swimming optional for the next week.  Those not swimming will be involved in a game or other physical activity.
Motueka Schools Summer Sports Day next Tuesday, 23 March. Year 7 & 8 students (all of Room 1) will be participating in this annual event which lasts all day.  It is held at the Rec. Centre and Goodman Park. The sports are volleyball, ultimate frisbee and playball (very similar to softball)
We desperately need offers of transport and or supervision for the day please! APPLE MACBOOKS They have arrived!!
We are very excited to have received 10 Apple Macbooks for use in the class room, thanks to our wonderful 2009 Festival!
MAGNETIC MULTIPLIER  We have more order forms in the office for the magnetic multipliers.  If you would like to see what they look like, we also have a sample at school.  $7 each which includes $2 to school funds.
MUSIC  Next term we are planning to involve more students in music activities.  If you are willing and able to help in any way, please contact Ali at school.

BOARD OF TRUSTEE PARENT ELECTIONS 2010
Nominations are invited for the election of 4 parent representatives to the board of trustees.

Nomination Form
Enclosed is a nomination form to enable you to put your name forward as a candidate in the forthcoming board of trustees election, or to nominate someone else as a candidate.

Note:  If you are on the school roll and eligible to vote then you can nominate yourself and do not require a seconder:  Ineligibility to stand for election is on the back of the nomination form (form 1).

Complete the nomination paper, including the necessary signatures.  Complete the candidate’s contact details including address and telephone/s (home and mobile), post or hand deliver to the returning officer at the address shown below.  

Nominations close at 12 noon on 23 April 2010.

Candidate’s Statement
As a candidate you are invited to submit a brief (up to 400 words) statement.

Note:  The returning officer will omit or abridge any part of the candidate’s statement where it exceeds 400 words, or is offensive or defamatory.

It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure the signed candidate’s statement is received by the returning officer.
